Celeste Taggart is an aspiring Theatrical Designer and Craftswoman. Having been involved in the performing arts on and off stage since the age of 8, Celeste has had the opportunity to be involved in numerous productions. Having recently graduated Magna Cum Laude from the University of Houston with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Theatre, Miss Taggart currently is seeking a challenging position to further her love, knowledge, and experience in theatre.

Celeste’s work experience includes interning at the Magik Children's Theatre in San Antonio, Texas (2014-2015), Costume Stitcher at the Houston Shakespeare Festival in Houston, Texas (2017),  Scenic Painter/Props Assistant for the San Antonio Ballet's production of Giselle in San Antonio, Texas (2017)Sound Board Operator for Morgan's Wonderland's production of Shakespeare in Wonderland  in San Antonio, Texas (2018), and Production Assistant for Morgan's Wonderland in San Antonio, Texas (2018).


As an intern at the Magik Children's Theater, Celeste's work encompassed multiple responsibilities, including observing or assisting teaching artists,

teaching a small workshop, helping with classroom management while developing curriculum, rehearsing and performing with children between the ages of 3-18, and being required to attend all class instruction days, showcases, scheduled extended care shifts, professional development sessions, and intern meetings.


As a Costume Stitcher at the Houston Shakespeare Festival, Celeste's work comprised of overall assembly for all costume pieces of the shows for the festival, including specialty items and accessories, as well as embellishments. 

As a Scenic Painter/Props Assistant at the San Antonio Ballet, Celeste's work consisted of detail painting for all house set pieces as well as aiding in the construction of smaller props and floral arrangements for set pieces. 

As the Sound Board Operator and Production Assistant for Morgan's Wonderland, Celeste's work involved the execution of all sound accompaniments for the production of Shakespeare in Wonderland  as well as the for the touring educational shows. As Production Assistant, Celeste helped with initial design conceptions for puppetry clothing and puppetry care and repair. 

During her studies at the University of Houston, Celeste’s educational experience included:

Assistant Scenic Designer for “The Miser” by Molière (April 2015) where she oversaw props for show, helped with initial research for props, helped create specific props, refurbished furniture for show, and assisted scenic designer in research for show.

Props Designer for “The Prime of Miss Jean Brodie” by Jay Presson Allen (September 2016) where she oversaw all aspects of Props for show, to include: initial research, pulling props, pulling furniture, and creating specific prop pieces for show.

Crafting Assistant for “She Kills Monsters” by Qui Nguyen (April 2016) where she oversaw all crafting projects, helped with initial research for creature designs, and created Orc Heads for creature crew.

Scenic Designer for “Thicker Than Honey” by fellow student playwright Nicole Zimmerer (November 2016), where she designed the set, drafted all scenic elements for show, was the head of build for all set pieces of show, head of research for props, and head of gathering and/or crafting props for the show.

Costume Designer for “10 Minute Play Festival” by fellow student playwrights: Bonnie Christiansen, Christian Gill, Will Inman, Eric Moore, Antonio Lasanta, Jeana Magallon, Reianna Morgan, Alex Rubin, and Faith Tenney(April 2017). Celeste was in charge of pulling and organization of all costume pieces borrowed/purchased, the initial research for shows, and the initial research and creation of all hair pieces.
